چکیده

The construction of a closed-loop observer for linear control systems and the associated eigenvalue assignment problem are classical tasks in Control Theory. The present paper describes an algorithm for the solution of this eigenvalue assignment problem. The algorithm is based on the implicitly restarted Arnoldi method, and is well suited for large-scale problems, that require the (re)assignment of only a few eigenvalues.

Partial Eigenvalue Assignment in Discrete-time Descriptor Systems via Derivative State Feedback

A method for solving the descriptor discrete-time linear system is focused. For easily, it is converted to a standard discrete-time linear system by the definition of a derivative state feedback. Then partial eigenvalue assignment is used for obtaining state feedback and solving the standard system. In partial eigenvalue assignment, just a part of the open loop spectrum of the standard linear s...

The Relationship between the Infinite Eigenvalue Assignment for Singular Systems and the Solvability of Polynomial Matrix Equations

Two related problems, namely the problem of the infinite eigenvalue assignment and that of the solvability of polynomial matrix equations are considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to both the problems are established. The relationships between the problems are discussed and some applications from the field of the perfect observer design for singular line...

An Optimization Approach for Minimum Norm and Robust Partial Quadratic Eigenvalue Assignment Problems for Vibrating Structures

The Partial Quadratic Eigenvalue Assignment Problem (PQEVAP) concerns the reassignment of a small number of undesirable eigenvalues of a quadratic matrix pencil, while leaving the remaining large number of eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors unchanged. The problem arises in controlling undesirable resonance in vibrating structures and in stabilizing control systems. The solution of t...

Partial Eigenvalue Assignment for Large Linear Control Systems

The eigenvalue assignment problem is a classical problem in Control Theory. This paper presents new algorithms for the stabilization of large single-input time-invariant control systems by partial eigenvalue assignment. Our algorithms are based on the implicitly restarted Arnoldi method, and are well suited for control systems that require the reassignment of a few eigenvalues.

Quadratic partial eigenvalue assignment problem with time delay for active vibration control

Partial pole assignment in active vibration control refers to reassigning a small set of unwanted eigenvalues of the quadratic eigenvalue problem (QEP) associated with the second order system of a vibrating structure, by using feedback control force, to suitably chosen location without altering the remaining large number of eigenvalues and eigenvectors. There are several challenges of solving t...
